Report from a dialogue seminar held by the Syrian dialogue center with the participation of several researchers and activists
As we approach the 12th annual remembrance of the Syrian revolution, and in the context of the remembrance of Aleppo’s fall to Assad’s forces and Iran’s militias and the passing of 4 years on the settlement agreement in the province of Daraa, not to mention the complicated and problematic regional and international context the region is going through, and the new attempts at normalisation by Turkey with Assad’s regime; the Syrian dialogue center held a dialogue seminar to discuss the current conditions in the province of Daraa and the dynamics of the settlement and reconciliation agreement there. The seminar also discussed the effects that had on the political solution in the north, as well as the possibility of implementing a similar agreement in northern Syria given the acceleration of Turkey’s normalisation with Assad’s regime. The seminar was held on the 27th of Jumada-I 1444AH which coincided with the 21st of Kanun-I (December) 2022AD, it was attended by politicians, researchers and representatives of revolutionary and opposition forces.
