Media Report for the “Options of the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces to Confront the Russian Offensive against Idlib” Seminar

With the military escalation of Russia and the Assad regime’s militias against Northern Syria aimed at the Syrian revolutionary and opposition forces, their popular base, and the incredible steadfastness the Free Syrian Army has shown in the battlefield, there is a great need to better understand the humanitarian, military and political situation, which will allow actors, whether individuals or institutions at their different levels and different specialties, to serve the persistence of our people in the freed areas. There is additionally a great need to review the previous lessons earned in different fields and try to foresee the future possibilities for the last stronghold of the Syrian revolutionary and opposition forces, “North Syria,” and what political solutions it holds for all of Syria.

The Syrian Dialogue Center, therefore, held a seminar “Options of the Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces to Confront the Russian Offensive against Idlib” with the goal of discussion and dialogue around previous subject form different humanitarian, media, military and political perspectives.

The seminar was held on Monday 19 Shawwal 1440 AH/ 24 June 2019 in the city of Antakya, with the participation of a number of representatives from the Syrian revolutionary and opposition forces and representatives of some revolutionary media institutions. The seminar discussed the political and military developments and all the scenarios and options available to the Syrian revolutionary and opposition forces to continue their steadfastness, improve their position and gains. The seminar also mentioned the media battle, with its pros and cons, and how it can be utilized.
