Media Report for the Seminar: “National Consensus Index (Second Edition)”
The Syrian Dialogue Center, consistent with its message in “achieving integration, co-existence and guiding national will,” and after approving it as a continual project for the center, whereby it will publish a bi-annual reports monitoring and analyzing the positions of the Syrian national forces towards the prominent current political issues with an academic methodology measuring the extent of their consensus, conducted its second seminar dedicated to the National Consensus Index (Second Edition). It aimed through this to continue its development of the National Consensus Index and improve its outputs and present a critical analysis through discussion of its methodology and numbers and percentages in cooperation with experts, specialists and parties interested in guiding the national Syrian movement. The seminar was held in Istanbul on Saturday, 25 Jamada al-Akhira, 1440/2 March, 2019.
The seminar was attended by a number of academics, researchers and actors in the Syrian issue, and its content ranged between discussing the mechanism of the monitoring bodies and how to deal with the monitored parties to expanding the idea of the index and the possibility of building other indices in the same context. There was also discussion on the artistic and technical aspects of the index and how to develop them.
